It has the charm of the pre-World War II architecture with mature landscaping, a pleasant mix of modifications to the traditional bungalow style and exciting new infill development.

The Park's 165 acres are meticulously maintained by Denver Parks and Recreation. It has two lakes where the geese and ducks rule. The Boathouse and the Bathhouse bring early 20th century romance to the site. , The walking and biking trails, the beautiful flowering gardens and the 120 year old trees create a venue for families and friends to enjoy together.

The "neighborhood" is actually two distinct neighborhoods, West Washington Park (http://www.wwpna.org/) and Washington Park East (www.wpena.com) and both have Registered Neighborhood Organizations (RNO's) that work to preserve what makes the neighborhoods special. In addition to the two RNOs there is a third organization, the Friends and Neighbors of Washington Park (FANS) which has its mission to act as stewards of the park. Its membership is composed of friends of the park, no matter where they reside.

Wash Park News is a site that serves as a focal point for what is happening in our neighborhoods and in the Park.

We will have articles written by community members, as well by Canon Colorado Team. We will have announcements about upcoming events. We may try to raise the awareness of critical issues facing the neighborhoods. We also want to encourage our residents to become active in issues that affect the quality of their lives. So we will have information about how you may become involved.
